Nickolaus Colgan

Nickolaus started his government career 10 years ago at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). During his time there, he staffed multiple legislative groups including Educational Opportunity Gap and Oversight Accountability Committee (EOGOAC), Expanded Learning Opportunities Council (ELOC), Transitional Bilingual Instruction Program (TBIP) Task Force, Social Emotional Learning Benchmarks (SELB) Workgroup, Race and Ethnicity Student Data (RESD) Task Force, and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Workgroup.

After transitioning to the Office of the Governor, he compiled and produced the monthly Governor’s Results Review for Results WA with Governor Inslee where all state agencies were brought together to present their work directly to Governor Inslee. Nickolaus enjoys being the “behind the scenes” person on the DCYF Oversight Board ensuring meetings run smooth and helping to amplify voices.

Outside of work, Nickolaus enjoys traveling, playing video games, gardening, talking walks with his dog Boscoe, and caring for his three lizards Nobert, Neil, and Norma.
