Representative, Child Welfare Caseworker Department of Children, Youth, and Families

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Eastern Gateway University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Washington through the Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program.

Danielle has over 13 years of experience working in child welfare and has been with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families for over six years. Danielle was a case carrying Social Service Specialist for over 4 years and, most recently, has been a Missing from Care Locator. In addition to her direct work, Danielle has been and is actively involved in multiple task forces and work groups within DCYF, where she collaborates with colleagues and management to improve policies and practices aimed at enhancing the outcomes for families and children in Washington State.

Beyond her role as a dedicated social worker, Danielle is also actively involved in union work. She is a member of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE), where she serves on the DCYF Policy Committee, is Executive Board Member of her Local, and is part of the Regional and Statewide Union Management Communication Committees. In these roles, Danielle advocates for the rights of workers, helps shape policy decisions, and works to improve conditions for both staff and the families they serve. Her leadership in these areas reflects her ongoing commitment to both the welfare of children and the well-being of her colleagues in the field.
