The Board encourages interested individuals from around the state to apply for any open position.
Open DCYF Oversight Board Roles
The current openings on the DCYF Oversight Board are listed to the right. When filling out the application
- Select “Children, Youth and Families Oversight Board, Department of” as the board or commission you are interested in applying to.
- Select “Position number 1” for the position you are interested in.
- Under “Why do you want to serve on this board or commission?” please specify the open position you are interested in filling.
Board Meeting Schedule
The Oversight Board meets bimonthly with occasional ad-hoc meetings. Meetings are held virtually, and at a physical location. The Oversight Board provides meals during meetings when appropriate and also provides travel reimbursements for mileage, flight and hotel stays when needed to attend meetings. Board members are expected to attend as many Board meetings as possible, to be well prepared for meetings by reading all provided materials ahead of time, and to attend meetings ready to actively participate


Member Expectations
Each Board member is expected to bring his/her/their own expertise and experience to his/her/their specific Board role in order to contribute towards ensuring the success of the Department of Children, Youth and Families.
A Board member is expected to engage with Board staff to address any questions, concerns or suggestions related to Board business. The Board maintains a collective agreement to adhere to the shared values of the Board. For further information on membership expectations and overall Board operations, please see the Board bylaws.
